One photo. One memory. One thing to pass on to a kid. Then we’re gone till Thursday.

4 falls. 4 winters. 4 springs. 5 summers.

I finally have the money for the maxxed‑out Dyno GT. This is it. Not just independence, but mine. This is RAD. Every trip down 43rd Street is another time trial down the Helltrack, and this bike is my ticket to anywhere that matters.

Except… it isn’t. I can’t Boomerang. Hang Ten? Hang FIVE? I hang zero. I know it. But this thing still gets me everywhere I want to go, faster than anything I’ve ever had.

If anyone asks, I’ve done the math, I know I’m 3 houses faster in 5 seconds than on that old Schwinn. According to my calculations, leaving the garage at the same time, I’m beating Dad down to the Stop sign.

And that’s all the proof I need that every dollar spent was worth it.

Homework Assignment

Tell a kid about the surgical precision needed to wind a cassette back to the precise second a song starts using a freshly sharpened pencil.

See ya next Thursday.
